Autumn Sonnichsen<\/strong> \u00e9 uma fot\u00f3grafa norte-americana, que vive entre S\u00e3o Paulo e Nova Iorque. No Brasil, j\u00e1 fotografou para revistas Trip e Playboy.<\/p>\n

1) Onde vc nasceu, quando veio para o Brasil e qual a maior diferen\u00e7a destas duas culturas no relacionamento com o pr\u00f3prio corpo e com o sexo?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>Eu nasci em Los Angeles, a primeira vez que vim para o Brasil foi em outubro de 2005. Continuo tentando descobrir a resposta para a \u00faltima quest\u00e3o.
\n2) Como funciona para voc\u00ea a diferen\u00e7a entre erotismo, pornografia e como os dois g\u00eaneros se encaixam no que podemos chamar de arte contempor\u00e2nea?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>Para mim a discuss\u00e3o sobre pornografia e erotismo \u00e9 uma discuss\u00e3o sem\u00e2ntica. Muitos dicion\u00e1rios apresentam estes termos como sin\u00f4nimos.<\/p>\n

O primeiro ensaio que eu escrevi na universidade era sobre “Origin of The World” de Courbet, que \u00e9 um bonito par de pernas abertas, originalmente pintado para ficar pendurado no quarto de algu\u00e9m, e hoje esta no Museo Orsay em Paris.<\/p>\n

Pornografia disfar\u00e7ada de arte (para posteridade) n\u00e3o \u00e9 novidade, nem a arte disfar\u00e7ada de pornografia (para ser mais vend\u00e1vel) \u00e9 novidade .<\/p>\n

A pornografia tem seu lugar na arte contempor\u00e2nea, at\u00e9 Matthew Barney faz pornografia. Existiu (existe) uma fase onde muita Arte-porn\u00f4 foi feita, Terry Richardson por exemplo, estilo documental com uma c\u00e2mera ligada e tudo muito imediato.<\/p>\n

Eu pessoalmente acho este tipo de trabalho um pouco cansativo, mas n\u00e3o necessariamente sem m\u00e9ritos, eu busco o tipo de pessoas que aproxima a pornografia de algum tipo de est\u00e9tica mais bem definida.<\/p>\n

3) Sente, em algum momento, que seu trabalho seja um estimulo a pervers\u00e3o? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>Espero que sim.<\/p>\n

4) O que tem a dizer sobre a artificialidade da mulher na pornografia dominante? Ou talvez a artificialidade dos corpos, j\u00e1 que o padr\u00e3o existe tamb\u00e9m para os homens.

Autumn Sonnichsen: Pornografia \u00e9 sobre sonhos, sobre incorporar sonhos. Eu n\u00e3o qualifico o que voc\u00ea esta dizendo como artificial, mas como surreal.<\/p>\n

Tudo existe, as pessoas acreditam em certas mulheres ou certas situa\u00e7\u00f5es porque elas existem em algum lugar, est\u00e3o embutidas em algum lugar, as mulheres que chegam a construir suas proprios corpos.<\/p>\n

Eu adoro mulheres que nos devoram com suas imagens, como Dolly Parton, Ter\u00e1 Patrick, P\u00e1mela Anderson.<\/p>\n

5) Vc trabalha acidentalmente com pornografia (como no titulo do seu antigo blog “Porn\u00f3grafa por Acidente”, agora ela mantem um blog no site nerve.com. como era seu relacionamento com pornografia antes de trabalhar com o tema?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>Eu sou fotografa antes de me tornar porn\u00f3grafa.<\/p>\n

The Accidental Pornographer foi um tipo de piada, n\u00e3o necessariamente a mais original.<\/p>\n

Eu n\u00e3o sai procurando por pornografia, entretanto a pornografia se apresentou para mim na forma de varias mulheres das quais eu me tornei colega atrav\u00e9s de uma forma ou outra, e eu achei tudo isso fascinante.<\/p>\n

Antes de eu conhecer estas garotas eu nunca tinha prestado muita aten\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 pornografia, no entanto eu sempre prestei aten\u00e7\u00e3o a elas.<\/p>\n

Meu trabalho tem sido sempre sexy de uma forma ou outra, mas n\u00e3o necessariamente expl\u00edcito.<\/p>\n

Eu sempre estive interessada na forma e nos n\u00edveis em que as pessoas valorizam a beleza e nas pessoas que lidam com isso todos os dias.<\/p>\n

Eu adoro Strippers, prostitutas, atrizes pornogr\u00e1ficas, modelos. Todas estas coisas s\u00e3o diferentes n\u00edveis de uma mesma id\u00e9ia, a id\u00e9ia de definir, definitivamente, o pre\u00e7o da beleza.<\/p>\n

Tudo \u00e9 poss\u00edvel, desde que feito com honestidade e beleza.<\/h1>\n

6) Vc, como editora de uma revista, diante das diversas possibilidades pornogr\u00e1ficas para um ensaio,quais estariam dentro da sua escolha:

7) Em que pontos seu gosto pessoal diverge de sua opini\u00e3o como editora ou fotografa? E como resolve estas quest\u00f5es?

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>Existem coisas que s\u00e3o bem feitas e que n\u00e3o s\u00e3o exatamente minhas prefer\u00eancias. Eu vejo a revista como algo separado de mim, n\u00e3o inteira minha ou feita com minhas vontades, \u00e9 muito mais um projeto coletivo.<\/p>\n

Os fot\u00f3grafos que trabalham comigo s\u00e3o incr\u00edveis, e eu acho edit\u00e1-los muito prazeroso.<\/p>\n

Eu gosto de ser capaz de apoiar o trabalho de outros fot\u00f3grafos que eu conhe\u00e7o e gosto, e seus respectivos pontos de vista, n\u00e3o apenas o meu.<\/p>\n

8) O que aprendeu sobre relacionamentos humanos convivendo com pessoas da ind\u00fastria porn\u00f4? Algo novo?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>Talvez, mas isso n\u00e3o \u00e9 algo que eu possa definir.<\/p>\n

9) Sua vida sexual “p\u00f3s-pornografia” incorporou algumas id\u00e9ias que n\u00e3o existiam para voc\u00ea antes de trabalhar com a ind\u00fastria?

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>As id\u00e9ias s\u00e3o as mesmas, s\u00f3 que menos instintivas e mais pensadas.<\/p>\n

10) Qual o “feedback” das mulheres sobre seu trabalho pornogr\u00e1fico? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>A maioria delas adora meu trabalho.<\/p>\n

11) Na sua opin\u00e3o, por que as mulheres consomem menos pornografia que os homens?

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>Mulheres consomem vibradores no lugar de pornografia.<\/p>\n

12) Cite os autores a autoras fundamentais para entender e pensar a pornografia (ou a “arte”) nos dias de hoje?

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>Martin Amis, Gore Vidal, Bukowski, Camille Paglia, e sempre e especialmente Susannah Breslin.<\/p>\n

13) Quais suas ambi\u00e7\u00f5es art\u00edsticas hoje? O que gostaria de fazer, fotos v\u00eddeos?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>Eu gostaria de fazer mais projetos com v\u00eddeos, v\u00eddeos musicais e coisas de mal gosto, “trash”.<\/p>\n

Eu gostaria de fazer um livro, grande, gordo, bonito, com uma textura que te de vontade de lamber, e t\u00e3o pesado que vc possa usar para segurar uma porta.<\/p>\n

Eu adoro revistas, eu adoro internet, eu adoro meu blog.<\/p>\n

Eu gosto de coisas que podem ser reproduzidas, coisas que voc\u00ea pode esconder sob o seu colch\u00e3o. Eu gostaria de ser escondida sob o colch\u00e3o de outras pessoas.<\/p>\n

Eu gostaria de fazer alguma coisa com Justine Jolie e Tera Patrick, n\u00e3o necessariamente ao mesmo tempo. E com Alice Braga, e com voc\u00ea, com todos voc\u00eas.<\/p>\n

14) Fale de seus trabalho, e de sua carreira, onde come\u00e7ou, quando come\u00e7ou, e onde podemos encontrar suas fotos?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>Eu comecei no quintal da minha escola quando estava no segundo colegial, e eu costumava fotografar uma garota chamada Ellen todos os dias no intervalo, sob as escadas.<\/p>\n

Ela era uma linda garota Italiana, com os cabelos ondulados, e um corpo com curvas sinuosas, e ela tinha aulas de dan\u00e7a do ventre, e pintava, e se tornou bi\u00f3loga. Este foi meu in\u00edcio.<\/p>\n

15) Auto-retrato te atrai? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>Eu nunca me senti muito atra\u00edda por auto-retrato.<\/p>\n

Eu comecei a fotografar originalmente porque certas pessoas me tocavam de uma forma que me deixavam fascinada, e eu queria preservar os detalhes e gestos, eu queria manter isto de alguma forma. E ainda \u00e9 assim.<\/p>\n

16) Qual sua opin\u00e3o sobre sites como: Supercult, Suicidegirls, Godsgrils, Vividalt, Burningangel, Belladonna.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>Eu n\u00e3o estou envolvida com uma cena ou outra, eu acho todos estes sites legais, e a Belladonna tem sua genialidade particular.<\/p>\n

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>Helmut Newton, Andi Kuonath, David LaChapelle, Eikoh Hosoe, Siege.<\/p>\n

18) Voc\u00ea assite videos pornogr\u00e1ficos sem obriga\u00e7\u00e3o profissional? O que gosta e o que n\u00e3o gosta em filmes pornogr\u00e1ficos?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>Eu n\u00e3o separo minha vida privada do meu trabalho a este ponto. Meu trabalho n\u00e3o \u00e9 das nove \u00e0s cinco.<\/p>\n

Tudo \u00e9 potencialmente parte de uma foto, parte um pesquisa de um projeto em andamento.<\/p>\n

Eu acho que boa parte da pornografia produzida \u00e9 feita de maneira pobre, sem est\u00e9tica definida, mas com intera\u00e7\u00e3o humana, as possibilidades de deslocamento e distanciamento em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao corpo e os pensamentos s\u00e3o sempre fascinantes.<\/p>\n

19) Fetiches?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>Eu gosto de fotos safadas<\/a><\/strong>, eu gosto da id\u00e9ia da fixa\u00e7\u00e3o em detalhes, mas n\u00e3o tenho interessa em uma ou outra particularmente . Mas vestir-se completamente de latex \u00e9 bem dif\u00edcil.<\/p>\n

20) Quais pa\u00edses tem as pessoas mais bonitas, na sua opini\u00e3o? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>Colombia, mas essa opini\u00e3o muda a cada semana. Se Los Angeles puder ser considerado um pa\u00eds tamb\u00e9m entra na lista. Essa opini\u00e3o muda cada semana<\/p>\n

21) J\u00e1 fotografou homens nus? Qual a diferen\u00e7a entre fotografar homens e mulheres nuas?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>Eu ja fotografei, e fotografo ainda, isso \u00e9 divertido dependendo do pessoa e do assunto, mas \u00e9 menos fascinante (para mim) e menos vend\u00e1vel.<\/p>\n

22) Que equipamento vc usa? Com qual tipo de luz gosta de trabalhar? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Autumn Sonnichsen:\u00a0<\/strong>Eu tenho usado muitos equipamentos digitais ultimamente. Eu gosto mais de sombras do que de luz.<\/p>\n

1) Where you was born, and how long are you living in Brazil? What is the biggest difference between American and Brazilian behavior related to the way you deal with your body and sexuality? <\/strong>
\nI was born in Los Angeles; the first time that I came to Brazil was in October 2005. I’m still trying to figure out the answer to the last question.<\/p>\n

2) In your opinion is there a difference between “erotic” and “pornographic” ? Do you think it’s possible to make a link between “porn” and “contemporary art”? <\/strong><\/p>\n

To me the debate over erotica and porno has a lot to do with semantics. Most dictionaries list them as synonyms.<\/p>\n

The first paper that I wrote in college was on Courbet’s Origin of The World, which is a beautiful pair of spread legs that was originally painted to hang in somebody\u00b4s bedroom and now hangs in the Orsay Museum in Paris.<\/p>\n

Porno disguised as art (for posterity) is not new. Neither is art disguised as porno (for marketability). Porno has a place in the contemporary art market; even Matthew Barney is making porno.<\/p>\n

There was (is) a phase where a lot of art-porn is done much like Terry Richardson, documentary-style with an on-camera flash and everything very immediate.<\/p>\n

I personally find that kind of work a bit tiresome, though not necessarily without merit, and I look forward to the sort of people that approach porno with a more defined aesthetic.<\/p>\n

3) Do you feel your work is an incentive to perversion?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

I hope so.<\/p>\n

4) What you think about artificial woman (and man) in mainstream pornography?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Porno is about dreams; about incorporating them.<\/p>\n

I don’t think I would qualify what you are referring to as artificiality, but as surreality. Everything exists, people dream of certain women and situations because they exist somewhere, are embodied somewhere, women that are able to build their own bodies.<\/p>\n

I love women that envelop you with their image; Dolly Parton, Tera Patrick, Pamela Anderson.<\/p>\n

5) The name of your former blog was The Accidental Pornographer (Now she manages a blog at Nerve.com. Are you are working with porn accidentally? How was your relationship with porn before you were involved with the industry?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

I was a photographer before I became a pornographer. The Accidental Pornographer was sort of a joke, not necessarily a very original one.<\/p>\n

I didn’t go searching for porno, but it presented itself to me in the form of various women with whom I became acquainted through one way or another and I found it fascinating. Before I met these girls, I never paid much mind to it, though I’ve always paid attention to them.<\/p>\n

My work has generally been sexy in one way or another, though not necessarily sexually explicit. I\u00b4ve always been interested in the ways and degrees to which people valorize beauty, and in people that deal with that on a daily basis.<\/p>\n

I love strippers, prostitutes, porn stars, fashion models. All of these things are different degrees of the same idea, the idea of defining, definitively, the price of beauty.<\/p>\n

6) As an editor of a magazine, facing all sort of possibilities for a pornographic material which one would you choose?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Anything is possible, so long as it\u00b4s done with a certain amount of honesty and beauty.<\/p>\n

7) At which point do your personal preferences differentiate from your opinion as a photographer or editor? How you deal with these issues?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have to be aware that there are things that are well done that may not be exactly to my personal preference, but I look at the magazine as something apart from me, not entirely mine or made up of my whims, more of a collective project.<\/p>\n

That said, the photographers that we work with are incredible, and I find editing very pleasurable. I like being able to support the work of other photographers that I know and love and their respective visions, not just my own.<\/p>\n

8) What you learned about human relationships through working in the porn industry? Something new?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Perhaps, but it\u00b4s not something that I can define.<\/p>\n

9) Has your sexual life “post-porno” has come to include ideas that didn’t exist for you before you work with this industry?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ideas are the same, but less instinctive, more realized.<\/p>\n

10) What kind of feedback do you get from women in response to your work with pornography?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Most of them love it.<\/p>\n

11) In your opinion why woman use less pornography than man? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Women buy vibrators instead.<\/p>\n

12) Which writers do you consider important to understand and think about pornography today?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Martin Amis, Gore Vidal, Bukowski, Camille Paglia, and always and especially Susannah Breslin.<\/p>\n

13) Which are your artistic ambitions today? What you would like to make: videos, photos?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’d like to do more video projects, music videos and skanky things. I’d like to make a big, fat, beautiful book so glossy that you want to lick it and so heavy that you can use as a doorstop.<\/p>\n

I love magazines, I love the internet, I love my blog. I like things that are reproducible, things that you can hide under your mattress. I’d like to be hidden under somebody’s mattress.<\/p>\n

I’d like to do something with Justine Jolie and Tera Patrick, not necessarily at the same time. And Alice Braga. And you. All of you.<\/p>\n

14) Talk about your work, career, where do you start, and where we can find your photos?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

I started out in the yard of my high school when I was in tenth grade, and I used to photograph this girl named Ellen every day at lunchtime under the stairs.<\/p>\n

She was this beautiful Italian girl with all this curly hair and an undulating figure, and she was taking bellydancing clases and painted and ended up being a biology major. That was the beginning.<\/p>\n

15) How do you feel about self-portraiture?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’ve never been particularly attracted to self-portraiture. I came into photography originally because it was a way of touching certain persons that I was infatuated with, whose details and gestures I wanted to keep, to hold onto in some way. It still is.<\/p>\n

16) What is your opinion about sites like: Supercult, Suicidegirls, Godsgrils, Vividalt, Burningangel, Belladonna, etc.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’m not “involved” in any one scene or the other.<\/p>\n

I think that all of those sites are great, and Belladonna has her particular element of genius.<\/p>\n

17) Talk about your favorite photografers and film makers.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Helmut Newton, Andi Kuonath, David LaChapelle, Eikoh Hosoe, Siege.<\/p>\n

18) Do you watch porn movies without professional obligation? What you like and dislike <\/strong>in a porn movie?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

I don’t separate my private life and my work life, to that extent; I don\u00b4t have a nine-to-five job. Everything is potentially part of a picture, sort of an ongoing research project.<\/p>\n

I think a lot of porno is poorly made, aesthetically, but the human interaction, the displacement and detachment of and from the body, is always fascinating.<\/p>\n

19) Fetish?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I like pictures of kinky stuff; I like the idea of fixation on details, though I’m not particular about which ones. Latex is a bitch to get on though.<\/p>\n

20) Which countries have the most beautiful people in your opinio?
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Colombia, but that’s this week. If LA can be considered a country that too.<\/p>\n

21) Have you photographed male nudes? What is the difference compared to photographing female nudes? <\/strong><\/p>\n

I have, and I do; it\u00b4s pleasurable depending on the subject, but less infatuating (for me) and less marketable.<\/p>\n

22) Which kind of equipment do you use? What kind of light you like do use?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I use a lot of digital equipment lately. I like shadows more than light.<\/p>\n
