Esta entrevista contou com a colabora\u00e7\u00e3o de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alanbarrosnogueira.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Alan Barros<\/a>.<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>1) Voc\u00ea dirige filmes e tem um site, qual \u00e9 o seu modelo de neg\u00f3cios de hoje, \u00a0como viabilizar a produ\u00e7\u00e3o audiovisual com tantos canais de distribui\u00e7\u00e3o, muitos aparecendo e desaparecendo rapidamente?<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>No meu neg\u00f3cio voc\u00ea tem que ser extremamente flex\u00edvel. Oportunidades de trabalho aparecem a qualquer momento. Eu \u00e0s vezes passo dias desenvolvendo conceitos que n\u00e3o me levam a lugar nenhum, e no outro dia eu recebo uma proposta legal para fotografar para um novo cliente. Est\u00e1 tudo sempre mudando, e acho que se eu me mover no ritmo das mudan\u00e7as na ind\u00fastria vou me manter \u00e0 tona. Ter mais canais de distribui\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 uma coisa boa, porque todos eles precisam de conte\u00fado. A internet tem sido fant\u00e1stico para a minha carreira, posso lan\u00e7ar meus filmes \u201con line\u201d, e fazer sess\u00f5es de fotos para sites como o \u201csuicide girls\u201d tem ajudado a criar uma base de f\u00e3s para o meu trabalho. Quando um cliente, ou investidor, v\u00ea que as pessoas v\u00e3o pagar pelo seu trabalho, ent\u00e3o voc\u00ea est\u00e1 no caminho certo.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>2) Qual \u00e9 o seu relacionamento com o Suicidegirls.com o movimento \u201cAltPorn\u201d em geral? Quem voc\u00ea conhece e tem contato nesse ambiente &#8220;? \u00a0<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><em>Eu ca\u00ed no mundo da pornografia alternativa por acaso. Um amigo meu sugeriu que eu visitasse um site que tinha &#8220;garotas gostosas com muita atitude&#8221;, e foi assim que eu encontrei o \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/suicidegirls.com\/girls\/Rydell\/photos\/Stray+Bullet\/\" target=\"_blank\">Suicide Girls<\/a>\u201d. Lembro-me de pensar &#8220;Inferno, se essas meninas s\u00e3o assim radicais, eu poderia realmente \u201cquebrar tudo\u201d com sangue falso, roupas apertadas e muito trabalho&#8221; Foi quando me <a href=\"http:\/\/suicidegirls.com\/members\/sureality\/\" target=\"_blank\">aproximei do SG<\/a> fazendo boas fotos, e trabalhando com algumas mulheres incr\u00edveis. Eu n\u00e3o sei se tem acompanhado os ensaios (no site suicidgirls.com), mas as coisas que eu fiz variam de \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/suicidegirls.com\/girls\/Alexsandria\/photos\/Savage+Repose\/\" target=\"_blank\">Viking Goddess<\/a>\u201d a \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/suicidegirls.com\/girls\/Hellah\/photos\/In+Her+Own+Image\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tank Girl post-apocalyptic<\/a>\u201d. Fiquei animado com a id\u00e9ia de criar uma personagem feminina forte para as modelos, e transform\u00e1-las nos her\u00f3is de quadrinhos que eu sempre amei. Este foi o ambiente perfeito para o meu trabalho, e me apresentou como um artista para os profissionais da televis\u00e3o e do cinema. \u00c9 engra\u00e7ado como esta cena (AltPorn) se tornou popular e quantas pessoas ir\u00e3o me contratar por causa do meu trabalho com as garotas.<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\n<strong> 3) \u201cThe Stereoscopic Pictures\u201d \u00e9 a sua empresa? Voc\u00ea tem outros s\u00f3cios, quais suas principais obras?<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00c9 um outro nome para o meu trabalho. Se eu produzi-lo, \u00e9 uma produ\u00e7\u00e3o \u201c<em>The Stereoscopic Pictures\u201d<\/em>.<br \/>\n<\/em> <em><br \/>\n<\/em><strong> 4) O que \u00e9 importante quando voc\u00ea esta trabalhando num cen\u00e1rio independente de produ\u00e7\u00e3o audiovisiual, incluindo os blogs, sites, e fanzines que fazem esta cena existir?<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong>Uma boa maneira de fazer as pessoas ficarem interessadas no seu trabalho \u00e9 a cria\u00e7\u00e3o de trabalhos acess\u00edveis em todos os meios. Todo dia eu me lembro que eu sou t\u00e3o bom quanto o meu \u00faltimo projeto. Sabendo disto, estou sempre tentando lan\u00e7ar algo novo. Curta-metragem, fotografia, v\u00eddeos e m\u00fasicas tendem a ter um ciclo de vida curto, e precisamos manter os f\u00e3s felizes, enquanto os projetos de maior dimens\u00e3o est\u00e3o em andamento. A internet \u00e9 uma ferramenta perfeita para a formar e atingir o seu p\u00fablico. Tive filmes como &#8220;Cold Hard Cash\u201d e \u201cCapture Device\u201d resenhados por blogs especializados em filmes de horror, e isso exp\u00f5e o meu trabalho para todos os seus espectadores. Faz sentido estar presente nestas m\u00eddias, e, algumas vezes, funciona muito bem.<br \/>\nGra\u00e7as \u00e0 internet eu pr\u00f3prio tenho distribu\u00eddo meu filme Cold Hard Cash online no site www.chcthemovie.com e consegui recuperar o dinheiro investido. Isso \u00e9 in\u00e9dito para curtas-metragens! Ultimamente tenho recebido e-mails de f\u00e3s que querem que eu lance todos os meus \u201ccurta metragem\u201d em DVD. Estou seriamente considerando fazer isso!<em><br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>5) Voc\u00ea tem um plano para \u201centrar\u201d no \u201cMainstream\u201d? Isto \u00e9 parte de suas ambi\u00e7\u00f5es profissionais? \u00a0<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><em>Sim. Venho trabalhando com o \u201cMainStream\u201d por algum tempo. Eu venho fazendo filmes como diretor de fotografia, e estou escrevendo dois roteiros de filmes. Tamb\u00e9m estou em conversa\u00e7\u00f5es com os escritores de &#8220;The Ward&#8221; (o pr\u00f3ximo filme de John Carpenter) para filmar seu pr\u00f3ximo longa metragem! Estou trabalhando duro para conseguir chegar a um ponto onde eu possa simplesmente criar e ser capaz de sustentar a minha fam\u00edlia e amigos com a minha arte, seja ela filmes ou fotografia. \u00c9 por isso que eu respeito muito o Robert Rodriguez. Esse cara faz filmes em sua garagem e lan\u00e7a para o mundo inteiro! Gostaria muito de chegar a esse ponto!<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>6) O seu filme \u201cColdHardCash\u201d foi citado como um &#8220;(..) &#8220;Grind House&#8221; bem feito &#8220;. Qual a sua opini\u00e3o sobre o trabalho de Quentin Tarantino? Ele \u00e9 uma influ\u00eancia para voc\u00ea? Quais s\u00e3o suas outras influ\u00eancias?<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><em>Ok deixe-me explicar esta cita\u00e7\u00e3o do site \u201cFilmthreat\u201d. O que quiseram dizer foi que \u201cColdHardCash\u201d \u00e9 um filme do g\u00eanero &#8220;GrindHouse\u201d feito da forma correta. Tenho sido perguntado sobre isso. N\u00e3o \u00e9 melhor que o filme \u201cGrindhouse\u201d, eu amo esse filme! Quando Lynch e eu nos propusemos a fazer este filme est\u00e1vamos obcecados com os filmes dos anos 70. Adoramos filmes de \u201cPeckinpah\u201d e quer\u00edamos fazer um projeto que tivesse o mesmo tipo de vibra\u00e7\u00e3o. Eu tamb\u00e9m adoro John Carpenters, e queria criar uma vers\u00e3o feminina de \u201cSnake Pliskin\u201d. A oportunidade de fazer esse filme com as \u201cSuicide Girls\u201d foi nossa maneira de realizar tudo isto, e sabendo o tipo de exposi\u00e7\u00e3o que poder\u00edamos ter, n\u00f3s adaptamos o filme para as meninas. \u00c9 engra\u00e7ado, eu sou comparado ao Tarantino todo o tempo, e a verdade \u00e9 que nunca pensamos em seus filmes ao fazer \u201cColdHardCash\u201d. Quando come\u00e7amos a pr\u00e9-produ\u00e7\u00e3o, \u201cGrindhouse\u201d n\u00e3o tinha sa\u00eddo ainda, e eu me lembro de ter visto este filme e sair rindo do cinema porque eu estava usando as mesmas t\u00e9cnicas usadas em Planet Terror. Eu achei isso muito legal. Ent\u00e3o, se eu tivesse que fazer uma lista de diretores que me inspiram (neste momento), seria algo como isto:<br \/>\n1. John Carpenter<br \/>\n2. Sam Peckinpah<br \/>\n3. David Fincher<br \/>\n4. Ridley Scott<br \/>\n5. John McTiernan<br \/>\n6. Steven Soderbergh<br \/>\n7. Sam Rami<br \/>\n8. Robert Rodriguez<br \/>\n9. Quentin Tarrantino<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>7) Em termos de equipamento e de produ\u00e7\u00f5es como voc\u00ea trabalha para viabilizar suas produ\u00e7\u00f5es? Voc\u00ea investe dinheiro pr\u00f3prio? Voc\u00ea tem algum tipo de capta\u00e7\u00e3o de recursos?<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><em>Isto realmente depende do projeto. Para muitos dos meus curtas eu levanto o dinheiro com investidores privados, ou financio o filme por mim mesmo. O filme Cold Hard foi 50% financiado com meu pr\u00f3prio dinheiro.<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>8) Que tipo de equipamento que voc\u00ea gosta de usar e que normalmente utiliza em suas produ\u00e7\u00f5es? Qual foi a sua produ\u00e7\u00e3o mais baixo or\u00e7amento? <em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><em>Costumo mudar de equipamento de projeto a projeto. Eu tento n\u00e3o comprar o equipamento porque tudo muda muito rapidamente. C\u00e2meras est\u00e3o desatualizadas meses depois de compr\u00e1-las, e os clientes querem sempre a pr\u00f3xima novidade. Agrade\u00e7o a Deus por existirem empresas de loca\u00e7\u00e3o de equipamentos! <\/em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>9) Como voc\u00ea fazer v\u00eddeos? Qual \u00e9 a sua forma\u00e7\u00e3o acad\u00eamica e\/ou profissional? Voc\u00ea acha que estudar cinema formalmente numa escola de cinema \u00e9 fundamental para a forma\u00e7\u00e3o de um bom profissional nesta \u00e1rea? <em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><em>Eu tenho uma id\u00e9ia e coloco em pr\u00e1tica. Voc\u00ea pode fazer qualquer coisa se voc\u00ea estiver disposto a divid\u00ed-la em etapas. Eu fui para \u201cNew York Film Academy\u201d, que \u00e9 um intenso workshop de cinema em Nova York. Estudar ai realmente me deu uma vis\u00e3o geral da teoria do cinema, e as habilidades que eu precisava para come\u00e7ar. Mais do que qualquer coisa, estudar ai me ensinou como produzir sem dinheiro.<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>10) No Brasil, existe um crescente interesse de pessoas querendo se dedicar \u00e0s carreiras na m\u00eddia, especialmente cinema e v\u00eddeo, voc\u00ea conhece alguma produ\u00e7\u00e3o brasileira? Que mensagem voc\u00ea daria para quem est\u00e1 come\u00e7ando a estudar, com base na sua experi\u00eancia at\u00e9 agora?<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><em>Isso \u00e9 \u00f3timo! Conhece algu\u00e9m que queira financiar um dos meus pr\u00f3ximos filmes? Eu odeio admitir isso, mas o \u00fanico contato que tive com o &#8220;Cinema Brasileiro&#8221;, que eu me lembro, \u00e9 um pequeno clipe que estava na internet h\u00e1 alguns anos, chamado \u201cSWAP.avi\u201d. Sendo que este \u00e9 um site porn\u00f4, tenho a certeza que h\u00e1 pessoas aqui que viram isso. Eu n\u00e3o vou descrever este v\u00eddeo brasileiro que vi, mas deixe-me dizer que sentei com 04 amigos e um balde para vomitar, aquele clipe destruiu qualquer inoc\u00eancia que pudesse existir em minha mente retorcida. Tudo o que vou dizer \u00e9 que a pornografia brasileira \u00e9 foda! <\/em><\/p>\n<p>(<strong>Nota da Xplastic: <\/strong>Ele provavelmente est\u00e1 se referindo ao v\u00eddeo \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/pt.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/2_Girls_1_Cup\" target=\"_blank\">2 girls 1 cup<\/a>\u201d, com cenas de escatologia, que vem representando o cinema brasileiro internet a dentro) <em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>11) O v\u00eddeo <em>&#8220;Brunette&#8217;s are more fun&#8221; <\/em> foi feito com que finalidade e em que circunst\u00e2ncias?<\/strong> <strong>Acho que foi uma das melhores cenas de dan\u00e7a que eu j\u00e1 vi.<\/strong><em><br \/>\nEsse clipe foi feito como uma experi\u00eancia divertida. Eu queria experimentar esta nova t\u00e9cnica que estava planejando utilizar, que trabalha muito com as sombras da fotografia. Pensei, por que n\u00e3o filmar algo divertido de se ver? Ent\u00e3o falei com a minha linda namorada, e grave alguns de seus movimentos! A gente filmou em poucas horas, e levamos alguns dias para editar. Who you know and have contact in this \u201cenvironment\u201d?<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>I stumbled into the alt-porn world.\u00a0 A friend of mine suggested I check out this site that had \u201chot chicks putting shotguns in their mouths\u201d, and that\u2019s how I found Suicide Girls.\u00a0 I remember thinking \u201cHell if these girls will go to this extreme, I could really beat the hell out of them with fake blood, tight outfits, and long shooting hours!\u201d\u00a0 That\u2019s when I approached SG to do high concept photo sets, and was able to work with some amazing women. I don\u2019t know if you have seen the sets, but the stuff we shot ranged from Viking Goddess to Tank Girl post-apocalyptic.\u00a0 I was excited about the idea of creating a strong female persona for the models, and turning them into the comic book hero\u2019s that I loved.\u00a0 This was the perfect playground for my work, and exposed me as an artist to professionals in the television and movie business worldwide.\u00a0 Its funny how pop culture this scene has become, and how many people will hire me just to ask about the girls. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>3) The Stereoscopic Pictures is your company? Has it other partners, what is its major works?<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>It is another name for my work.\u00a0 If I produce it, it\u2019s a Stereoscopic Picture.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>4) What is important when you\u2019re working with a independent audiovisual production scenario, including sites, blogs, fanzines?<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>A good way to get people interested in your work is to create work that they can see.\u00a0 Every day I am reminded that I am only as good as my last project. \u00a0Knowing this I am always trying to release something new.\u00a0 Short films, Photography, and music videos tend to have a fast turn around and really keep the fans happy, while the larger projects get finessed.\u00a0 The internet is a perfect tool for building and reaching your audience.\u00a0 I have had films like Cold Hard Cash and Capture Device reviewed by horror blogs, and the exposes my work to all their viewers.\u00a0 It makes sense, and sometimes works out really well.\u00a0 Thanks to the internet I have been self distributing Cold Hard Cash online at www.chcthemovie.com and have made back the films budget.\u00a0 That is unheard of for short films!\u00a0 Lately I have been getting emails from fans who want me to release all of my shorts on DVD.\u00a0 I am seriously considering it!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>5) Do You have a plan to enter in the mainstream area? Is This part of your professional ambitions?<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>Yup.\u00a0 I have been working on it for awhile now.\u00a0 I have been shooting films as a director of photography, and I am writing two feature films scripts.\u00a0 I am also in talks with the writers of \u201cThe Ward\u201d<em>(the upcoming John Carpenter film)<\/em> to shoot their next movie!\u00a0 I am working hard to get to get to a point where I can just create and be able to support my friends and family with my art, be it films or photography.\u00a0 That\u2019s why I respect the hell out of Robert Rodriguez.\u00a0 That guy makes movies in his garage and releases them worldwide!\u00a0 I would love to get to that point!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>6) The film ColdHardCash was cited as &#8220;(..) a &#8220;Grind House&#8221; done right. &#8221; What is your opinion about the Quentin Tarantino\u2019s work? Is He an influence for you? What are your other influences?<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>Ok let me just clear the air on that quote from Filmthreat.\u00a0 What they meant was that Cold Hard Cash is a \u201cgrind house genre\u201d film done right.\u00a0 I have been asked this before.\u00a0 It\u2019s not better that the film Grindhouse, I love that film!\u00a0 When Lynch and I set out to make this film we were obsessed with the films from the 70\u2019s.\u00a0 We love Peckinpah\u2019s films and wanted to do a project that had that same kind of pacing.\u00a0 I also have a love for John Carpenters heros, and wanted to create a female version of Snake Pliskin.\u00a0 The opportunity to do this film with Suicide Girls came our way, and knowing the kind of fan exposure we could get, we adapted it for the girls.\u00a0 It\u2019s funny, I get compared to Tarantino all the time, and the truth is that we never thought of his films when making Cold Hard. When we started pre-production, Grindhouse hadn\u2019t come out yet, and I remember going to see it and laughing because I was using a lot of the same techniques they were, all the way down to the stock film damage footage that was used in Planet Terror.\u00a0 I thought that was pretty cool.\u00a0 So if I had to make a list of directors that inspire me(at this moment), it would look like this:<br \/>\n1. John Carpenter<br \/>\n2. SamPeckinpah<br \/>\n3. David Fincher<br \/>\n4. Ridley Scott<br \/>\n5. John Mctiernan<br \/>\n6. Steven Soderbergh<br \/>\n7. Sam Rami<br \/>\n8. Robert Rodriguez<br \/>\n9. Quentin Tarrantino<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>7) In terms of equipment and productions how do you work to turn feasible your productions? Do you take money out by your own? De you have some kind of funding raising?<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>It really depends on the project.\u00a0 For a lot of my shorts I either raise the money from private investors, or finance the film myself. For Cold Hard I put in half of my own money.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>8) What kind of equipment do you like to use more and normally use in your productions? What was your lowest budget production?<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>The equipment changes from job to job.\u00a0 I try not to buy equipment because it changes to rapidly.\u00a0 Cameras are outdated months after you buy it, and the clients always want the next big thing.\u00a0 Thank god for rental houses!\u00a0 My lowest production was $20 and that was for my film \u201cThe Subway Stalker\u201d and that film has been in festivals all over the US! <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>9) How did you make videos? What is your academic training and \/ or professional? Do you think that formally study cinema at film school is fundamental for the formation of a good professional in this area?<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>How do I make videos? I come up with an idea and do it.\u00a0 You can do anything if you are willing to break it down into steps.\u00a0 I went to New York Film Academy which is an intense film workshop in NYC.\u00a0 It really gave me an overview in film theory, and the skills I needed to get started.\u00a0 More than anything it taught me how to produce with no money. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>10) In Brazil, we live now a certain increasing of people becaming dedicated on careers in media and especially the movies,do you know any brazilian production? What message would you give to anyone starting to study now, based on your experiences so far?<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>That\u2019s great!\u00a0 Know anyone that wants to finance one of my next films?\u00a0 I hate to admit this though, but the only exposure to \u201cBrazilian cinema\u201d that I can remember is a little clip that was on the internet a few years ago called SWAP.avi.\u00a0 Being that this is a porn site, I am sure there are people here who have seen this.\u00a0 I\u2019m not going to describe it, but let me just say I sat down with 4 close friends and a bucket to puke in, and allowed that clip to destroy whatever innocence was left in my twisted brain. \u00a0All I will say is that Brazilian porn is fucked!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>11) The video &#8220;Brunette&#8217;s are more fun&#8221; was done with what purpose and under what circumstances?
